The Best New Beauty Website – Skin City

I shopped at Effortless Skin for cosmeceutical skincare for years and included them as a favourite in my ‘Best of Beauty Websites’ post last year. The team got in touch recently to let me know the exciting news that they have recently relaunched as Skin City and what they offer is even better now than it was before! The site still carries all of the brands that I love and purchased before but they now also have some exciting new additions. They also now offer free 24-hour delivery as standard (which is AMAZING), access to qualified skin therapists by email, phone chat and social media, as well as an online skin test so that you can find out what skin type you have and which products will be the most effective for you. In this post I am going to go through some of the brands available from Skin City and my top product picks.

Paula’s Choice

Paula’s Choice is fast becoming one of my favourite brands, the skincare line is full of active products that really make a difference in the skin. I have been using and loving the 10% niacinamide booster to help regulate sebum production, the 2% BHA liquid on my chin to help with hormonal breakouts and the 10 % azelaic acid booster to help get rid of any uneven skin tone. I have also heard great things about the Paula’s Choice range of retinols.

Neostrata

If you follow my blog you’ll know that the Neostrata NAG + retinol is one of my favourite vitamin A products. It is very strong and not for beginners to retinol but it is very effective. I also love the Neostrata tinted SPF 50 and will definitely be repurchasing that to wear this spring and summer.

Epionce

I have always heard great things about the Epionce Medical Barrier Cream for those who have very dry skin, are post procedure or are going through the retinol peeling phase. Skin City kindly sent over the Epionce cleanser for me to try and it’s a lovely creamy gel texture that I use as a second cleanse in the evening or as a quick cleanse in the morning.

iS Clinical

The iS Clinical Active Serum has rave reviews online so I was intrigued to try it. It is quite an unusual serum, it is very lightweight in texture and has a cooling, tingling sensation when it goes on the skin. It is made up of a blend of natural extracts designed to boost the skin’s exfoliation processes to remove damaged cells and decongest the pores, while Arbutin and Mushroom Extract inhibit melanin production for a reduction in dark spots and uneven tone.

PRIORI

I have been using the PRIORI Barrier Restore Complex for the past month and I love it. It is a water-based moisturiser packed full of ceramides to keep the skin barrier healthy. It reminds me of my beloved Cerave PM lotion but it is a bit more moisturising, so great for the colder months.

Klairs

I got the Supple Preparation Toner for Christmas and I think it is great. It is more of an essence rather than a toner and it is very hydrating and calming. Skin City gifted me the Klairs Vitamin E Mask which is a lovely moisturising sleeping mask that makes your skin look plump and fresh the next morning.

Skin City also stocks SkinCeuticals, Tata Harper, NIOD, Heliocare, Medik8 and many more brilliant brands. I would highly recommend heading to this website when you are in need of skincare advice and products.

Thank you to Skin City for sending me some lovely products to try for this post.
